My name is David Kerr, and I’m a retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Sergeant running for Congress in Tennessee’s 1st District because it’s time we send someone to Washington who actually gives a damn about the people back home.
I’m a lifelong Tennessean, born and raised in Knoxville. I attended Cedar Bluff Middle School, then played ball at Knoxville Catholic High School. After graduation in 1997, I enlisted in the Marines and served my country proudly for 20 years as a Motor Transport Maintenance Chief. I retired in 2017 as a Master Sergeant. While serving, I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix, and I’ve worked as a mechanic — real hands-on work that keeps things running.
I’m a father of three, and like so many of you in District 1, I’m tired of watching our families get squeezed by an economy that’s circling the drain while politicians treat campaigns like a billionaire fundraising contest. I’m not a career politician. I’m not chasing corporate donors or playing the DC money game. I joined the Marines to serve, and now I’m stepping up again — this time for our communities in East Tennessee.
